about

POET'S STATEMENT:

When we fall in love, we begin to feel the connections that hold the world together, and we try to understand them. We use our mouths and hands to express ourselves and to reach out for answers. This is what I have written to help keep my feet planted while allowing my heart to sing.

—Elaine Rasnake

A NOTE ON "WORDS"

Love poems are the most beautiful kind of human song. How gorgeous that our expression of love turns to music. Is it the open-endedness of art which pulls us in? Our attempts to describe love gravitate towards the subjective—is quantity and neatness too sterile for the blurry edges and leaky nature of emotion and fondness? Probably. So the words don't matter, basically—it's the rhythms we're listening to; the way a phrase sounds, or the heartbeat of a lover, or your own.

—Matt Leece

Recorded and mastered at Bloomsburg University fall of 2013.
